APPLICATION PROCESS:

This year, in 2021, the conference will take place as a real hybrid conference, integrating the following formats:

• hybrid (format takes place at a physical venue, speakers can join in online, interactive, live participation is also possible online – there is an online audience and a physical one);
• digital (formats that are not physically-participants can attend online);
• analogue (formats that exclusively take place in Krusevo and can only be attended in person – no online audience).

The common thread of #IYC2021 is formed by five thematic tracks:

1. Regional Transformation
2. Securing the European future of the region
3. Youth -led transformation of the integrative politics of the region
4. Sustainable and digital transformation of the region
5. How much does the future cost?

Shi Weili said that from the current situation, the new coronavirus will not disappear in a short time, and humans are likely to coexist with it. “In this case, we still have to have hope, remain optimistic, and still love life.”

Blanco Koarik, a member of the Scientific Committee of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, director of the Research Center for Geriatric Health Protection of the Ministry of Health and epidemiologist, agrees. The coronavirus disease pandemic is still having an enormous impact on daily lives of millions across the world, including the Western Balkan, said Dejan Ilioski from North Macedonia.

Now is a good time to invest in ourselves and to plan a new business. I want to send a message to all young people – we must seize the opportunity and focus on new knowledge, new technology. We need to protect everyone, everywhere and to ensure no one is left behind. People all around world are joining forces to show that we are stronger together.” – said Dejan Ilioski, Executive Director of the European Youth Association.

Czech people use home sewing machines to make masks. Due to the lack of epidemic prevention materials, the Czech people made masks by hand.

“We are very happy to see the Czech people united from top to bottom. In the face of the epidemic, people showed a spirit of selfless dedication. We found that everyone became heroes at that moment, helping each other and supporting each other. Sometimes, we found that the hero is not difficult at all, he often only needs a simple smile. In this special period, the most important thing is to spread the belief of solidarity. Unity can win, and no one can protect himself in isolation. No one is an isolated island, and the new crown epidemic is our common enemy. This is true not only for the Czech people, but also for people all over the world. I think that only mutual help and strengthen cooperation can we come to fight against the epidemic” – said Patrick Gibek, coordinator of the Czech MPMP media project.

The EYE (European Youth Event) brings together at the European Parliament in Strasbourg and online thousands of young people from all over the European Union and the world, to share and shape their ideas on Europe’s future.

It is a unique opportunity for 16 to 30 year olds to interact, inspire each other and exchange their views with experts, activists, influencers and decision-makers, right in the heart of European democracy.

EYE2023, the fifth edition of the event, took place on 9 and 10 June and featured both in-person and hybrid activities in Strasbourg. In light of the European and global context and ahead of the European elections 2024, part of this edition’s programme focused on the role of democracy and youth engagement.

Following the event, the ideas, expectations and concerns  from young people will be collected in the Youth Ideas Report distributed to all Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). Some participants will be able to further develop the most inspiring ideas and present these directly to the MEPs during the EYE Hearing.

The EYE strives to promote equality, inclusiveness and sustainability with a strong commitment to accessibility for everyone. Our aim is to accommodate the needs of all participants and to implement solutions that make the event sustainable and environmentally friendly. After the edition of 2023, the ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management of the EYE was renewed thanks to continued improvements on the sustainability and accessibility if the event.

CEDEFOP, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, offers 12-month period of in-service training (stage) for young university graduates but also to PhD students, without excluding those who are at the beginning of a new professional career.

Timing and duration of traineeships

There is one trainee intake per year that lasts 12 months, starting in October.

For this intake, Cedefop offers 11 traineeships in the following areas:

• ICT security & support 
• Communication Content and Support
• Dissemination
• ReferNet
• Future of VET and Qualifications and Credentials
• VET Policies and Systems
• VET Supporting Policy
• VET for Youth
• VET and Skills Statistics and Indicators
• Skills Intelligence and Foresight 

Applicants must

• Be nationals from EU Member States, Candidate Countries, or EFTA
• Not have already benefited from in-service training in another European institution or body.
• Have completed the first cycle of a higher education course (university education, minimum EQF 6 level) and obtained a full degree or its equivalent by the closing date for applications.
• Have very good knowledge (C1) of at least 2 EU official languages, of which one should be English.
• Applications for in-service training must be submitted via the on-line application form.

  Grants

• EUR 1,233.69 per month for trainees from abroad, as well as trainees residing in Greece and living more than 50 km from Thessaloniki.
• EUR 925.27 per month for trainees residing in Thessaloniki prior to the start of their traineeship.
